WESTLAND LAND BOARD.

WEDNESDAY, 20th SEPTEMBER

The Hoard met at 2 p.m. Present: — The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr W. T. Morpeth (Chairman), Alessrs It. Houliston, B. Ward, Win Clayton, and Geo. Alnllinson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. WEGCOAIE TO COAIAITSSIONEH.

Air Ward extended to Air Morpeth a West Coast welcome to the district. Hi meeting him that day they looked forward to having a commissioner full of vigor and energy. With other members ire would.do iris best to assist in carrying on the work of the Hoard. He hoped that during his visits to the various parts of the district that lie would find much of interest, and that his stay in the district would prove a welcome one.

Alessrs Houliston, Alnllinson and Clayton joined in the welcome, assuring the new Commissioner of their support in carrying on the business of the Hoard/

Ai rC. P. Sellers bn behalf of the land agents also extended a cordial welcome trusting the usual good relations would continue.

Mr Morpeth thanked members for the very warm welcome. He deeply appreciated their kind words which had given him personal satisfaction. He came to new things, including Land 'Hoard work, the special peculiarities and conditions of the district. Ho was looking forward to a personal a*f|iiaintanco with Westland geographically and the members of the lioard, and would do his utmost to promote the best interest's of the district. He felt sire that the same - pleasant and harmonious relations of the past would continue, allot he thanked them all again for the kind welcome extended.
