Wataroa Notes.

(From a Correspondent). The directors of the Wataroa Dairying Company are making good progross with the erection of the new building fdr the butter making plant at Matainui, and by all appearance* the building will he completed early in October, in time for tlie coniing season. The settlers of Wailio district have recently purchased several herds of milch cows in the southern districts and are arranging to have their cream brougt through to Matainui by motor car from Wailio twice weekly. Owing to a flood in the Waitangi river last Sunday the mail and passenger ears were detained overnight at Wataroa. Tlie speeding up of the construction of tlie Waitangi bridge is very necessary, also a start should be made with the approaches, which will involve considerable la hot'. The contract for the bridge lias been let for some time, but as yet there is no sign of tlie contractor in the district. The work so urgently needed should not he allowed to-dally; nor should the experience at Little Waitaha happen again, the public waiting for .months for the approaches after tlie bridge is out of hand.

The sub contractors who are procuriiur the silver pine piles for Waitangi bridge are making good progress and have quite a number of 30 feet piles hauled close to the bridge site. T 1 bridging of the Waitangi river is the last dangerous crossing calling for urgent attention and it is to lie hop ' contractors and authorities will combine- to rush the work so that bridge and approaches will lie ready, in good time simultaneously.
