Obstructing Traffic.
MAGICTAN FINED. * AUCKLAND, Auk. 27. As a result of an “execution” performance in Queen Street on .Monday tbe magician Nicola, was charged n't the police court before .Mr Poyntou, 5.. M., with baring caused an obstruction of traffic.
I'or the defence .Mr Herman said it had not been anticipated that any. thing like such a crowd would as. soluble. The scaffolding had been Passed by 't.lm inspector; so there was no objection on that score. A feature of' tile performance was its rapidity, the whole thing being a matter- of minutes.
.Mr .Mnekay for the prosecution-, replied that trams bad lost over fifty miles of traffic, the period, being a lamone as people were going home to lunch. The service bad been disorganised to give defendant an advertisement.
The Magistrate said there wr<s no doubt of* the obstruction. Defendant had received a very fine advertisement and lie was fined to and costs.
