(Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK. Aug 29. Tn the fourth sot the Americans appeared to completely outplay their opponents. Patterson became wild erratic, and Wood tired, and no rest period had been agreed upon between the third and fourth sets, the Austral, ians being anxious to catch an early train, in preparation for the Davis Cup. They won four games, hut the Americans took the rest and the match.
