Increase Of Bankruptcies. There has been an increase of 237 bankruptcies in the seven montlig of this year, equal to an increase of 148 per cent. It means practically that for every two bankruptcies registered during the first seven months of last year there were live during the same . period of the current year. Owing to the inflation of land values and the burden of heavy mortgages and a multiplicity of such mortgages on single farms, the bankruptcies among fariu'era have been .exceptionally heavy. There were in all 110 bankruptcies of farmers, and this number is equal to 27.5 per cent, of the total bankruptcies.
