[BY TBLEQRAPH—PEE PIIESB ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Aug 19. THE COUNCIL. The Council met at 2.30. Minor amendments made by the Statues Revision Committee in Rotorua orough Bill were agr'ed to and the Bill read a third time and passed. Surveyor’s Institute Bill also passed without amendment. The Animals Protection and Game Amendment Bill was introduced by ) Hon G. M. Thomson, i s intended to prohibit trap pigeon shooting. It was read a second time. The Council adjourned at 3.25 p.m. till Wednesday.
THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.30 p.m. In the House, Mr Veitch gave notice of intention to introduce the Painters’ Heath Protection Bill. The Motherhood Endowment Bill was introduced by Mr Savage. and after a debate, was read a first time. At the evening sitting, Sir John Snlmond’s report on the "Washington Conference was debated and the fol- > lowing motion moved by the Premier,
