Twelve persons are dead and three villages destroyed by forest fires in northeast Minnesota. RAILWAY TRACK BLOWN UPNEW YORK, August 18. Following the derailment of BuffnloNiagara Falls train, nine persons were injured. Railway officials announced fifty sticks of dynamite were found on the track and offered ten thousand dollars reward for the arrest of the wreckers
STRIKE SETTLEMENT CONFERENCES. NEW YORK, August 18. A joint conference of the Railway Executives and Railway brotherhoods in the Shopmens strike adjourned last night without arriving at a definite conclusion; but both are satisfied with the progress. Seniority rights are still the stumbling block. The conference resumes this morning. The Anthracite Conference at Philadelphia adjourned till this afternoon for 'lx)th sides to confer with their colleagues and Washington administration. Officials now expect Mr Harding address will congress on industrial situation at noon to-day.
