Heath and Heather Day.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2. The campaign for funds for the Robert Hums statue to be erected in Hokitika is now well under way. At a meeting of ladies at the Town I’all yesterday afternoon the following committee was set up to conduct the Heat h and Heather'Day to he held on Saturday. It was decided to ask the Pipe band P, p-mide in the evening, and to nrrange for Scotch dancing and. community singing in the open air. At the open air entertainment a collection will he taken up.

A varied list of home cooked favors was suggested including Scotch broth, oatcake, girdle semes, haggis, pikelets, potted head. Vherd'.en rolls, bannocks, Scotch pies, shot-thread, ginger snaps, cakes, sweeties etc. (lifts of ingredients will be welcomed also, and the Secretary (Miss Davidson) may he notified of same.
