The more extensive improvements being carried out to Cass Square as a result of the grant from the “Poppy Fund” supplemented by local contributions are proving very effective. The war memorial is now nearing completion and is being generally admired very much. The vicinity is now being ornamented by plots, and with the early removal of the children’s swings to a more appropriate position in the grounds, the neighbourhood of the memorial will be put down in grass, and all that quarter placed in more seemly order. The improvements when completed should l>e very effective. The Beaut’fving Society will bo appealing very shortly for more funds, and the good work being done should encourage the citizens to subscribe both regularly and more liberally.
