Republicans have destroyed a mansion at Brookfield, Tullanjore, owned by Lady Bury, including Valuable paintings and costly furniture. Some rebels at Cork sank a large steamer at the mouth of the river Le thus completely closing the port, and adding a menace of famine. Armed men raided Guinness’s brewery at Dunlin, held up the staff with revolvers, and took £2OOO.
FREE STATE LANDINGS. LONDON, August 9. The Free Staters are reported to have landed at two points near Cork, and at Cork.
Owing to the intensity of sniping between Cork and Queenstown, the Admiralty has issued a warning that it is undesirable' to clear vessels for Cork.
The Rebels have threatened to treat as combatants the railwaymen who are assisting in the transportion of the Free State troops. . The rebels have been driven but of Abbeyfcate and Drumcollogher, their last stronghold in Limerick.
