Judge Reed congratulated the district on its comparative free, dom from crime. True bills were returned in all cases including one against H. W. Wilson of alleged manslaughter. DUNEDIN, August 8. The criminal sitting opened this morning before Justice Hosking. True bills were found in all 14 indictments, save against George Addison of theft of a wallet. L Robert Aitken Kitchen, got 5 years for incest. Reverend Edward Andrew Axelson on four charges of indecently assaulting youths received. 6 months on each bo lie cumulative. Alfred Edgar Brown was fined £5 for assault.
