A SAD AFFAIR.
A feeling of deep regret was caused this morning when it became known that Mr Bogina Id Fane had been found dead on Wadeson Island, in a cowshed belonging to Mr IT. Butland. The deceased who was a native of Hokitika, and 60 years of age, resided at Gibson Quay. He had been in very had health for the past two years, and had come back to Hokitika some months ago not much better. He retired to bed last evening be fore 9 o’clock, saying lie would get up early in the morning and go for a long walk, lie was found this morning at 7.30 o’clock by M.r Henry Butland, lying on the ground of a cow shod on the island wlicrc.be imd apparently bung himself. The rope bad broken and had let the body fall. On examination the deceased was found to he dead. The body was warm, hut death had ensued about an hour before. The deceased who was a native of Hokitika, leaves a widow and family of two daughters, and two sons, also a brother and three sisters (all married). For many years he acted us Clerk of the Course for the Westland Rating and Trotting Clubs, and was popular with nil who knew him. The family and relatives will have the deep sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad trouble.
