The House met at 2.30 p.m
Mr Holland made a statement in support of his allegations that the Liberal Party, up to a week ago was willing to accept office with the aid of Labour votes for the purpose of passing proportional representation; quoting letters written by intermediaries.
Afr Wilford, in reply, said he personally favoured such all arrangement to avoid vote splitting, hut at no time had his party agreed to it. Therefore ATr Holland was in error when lie said the party had even endorsed that ari angemeni. The del,ate on tlie Adrlress-in-Tteply was continued by Messrs Parry, AlcNieol, Bnrtram, Coates, and Savage. The debate was adjourned on the motion of Afr J. Nash and the House rose at, 10.50 p.m.
