WESTLAN D COM MITTKE. The Committee met last evening at the County Chambers at 7.40 o’clock. Present:—Messrs \V. Jeffries (chair), R. Wild, T. AY. Duff, T. W. Bruce. E. Teichelmnnn, 11. Pilkingtou, J. Ritchie and J. W. Morris, (secretary) Apologies for absence were 'received from Messrs Evans, Butler, Mclntosh, and Dalgleisll. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONHENCE.
From tlio following. forwarding donations to the* funds. Westland County Council £2O. Westland [hieing Club £o os. Licensed Victuallers Association £lO l()s. Hokitika Savings Bank £2 2s. Received with thanks. From Ross Borough Council appreciating the work of the League and advising a vote of £5 os had been passed.—Received. From Nelson Chamber of Commerce requesting support in an endeavour to have (Jlenhope-Inangahua Junction railway completed.-—Received. From Tourist Bureau, Christchurch, acknowledging letter from Committee and advising full information regarding Const matters is available at Bureau. Received and resolved to write thank ing Bureau for explanation and expressing appreciation of service. From” Railway Department, stating Arahura Siding approaches was under consideration.--Received. From Defence Office, Grey mouth, circular re Territorial training.—Received. From C. S. Dalgleish requesting support of League in request to A. and It Association to take up matter of Boys and Girl’s agricultural clubs.—Received and resolved to accord support and join with A. and I*. Association in offering prizes towards Grass Clubs by a donation of £2 2s. From H. Belshaw, forwarding copy of report on Winter School and expressing appreciation of assistance of this Committee. —Received. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Wild, seconded bv Mr Pilkingtoii that the Nelson Chamber of Commerce lie advised that the necessary support hud already been given hv the parent Lea one in Christchurch to the movement to complete the Olenhope Tnnngahiin Junction railway. . . From Dr Toichelma.ini advising he was leaving next day for Christchurch and Wellington where be intended do livering illustrated lectures on Westland at the request of the bengtie with the object of further advertising these P Hearty good wishes were expressed that the lectures would he productive of the anticipated results and the sum having been voted bv the Chamber of Commerce. A vote of thanks was passed to Dr Teiehelmann for the trouble he is taking in making widelv known the beauties and possibilities of the Coast, . It was resolved, on the motion of the Chniiijman, seconded by Mr Ritchie that a. letter of appreciation of services bo forwarded to Mr Galbraith on his departure to Invercargill.
