ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Spoein! to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. -Messrs 11. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store sheep.—A large market eom[Kised mostly of ewes and hoggets. The market generally was easier except for good hoggets and young ewes, for which there was a good demand. Best rius and hoggets from 13s to 15s (id: best ewes and hoggets up to 225; best young ewes from 2-ls to 275; sound mouth ewes from 18s to 225; failing and inferior owes from IDs fid. Best forward wethers from lbs to 20s.
Store cattle.—A small yarding, mainly nondescript lots, but mostly all were sold at auction. Heifers in call' met with gm'd iiinipt titiou, but other classes ul cattle although mostly sold, were in little demand. One nice line of yearling Kresinn heifers made £3; best 2-vear ditto spring culvers to CO Ids; others L'3 to £1 IPs; 3-year steers £3 Jos to £•! 10s; 2 ditto £2 Ids to C 3 10s.
Jieef.— A considerably larger yarding than last week, about 400 being yarded and the quality all round was very good. The market opened slightly easier and slackened ns it progressed, but firmed up towards the end. Any medium weight prime quality sold well so long iis it was well finished, hut rough stuff' and unfinished sorts were hard to sell. Prime steers £ll os to L'l I ; extra, to £lO Ids; medium £8 to £11; others £0 to £7 Ids prime heifers CO Ids to £8 IOs; extra to £1) ; others C 3 10s to CO Ills. Prime cows £0 to £8 5s ; others £3 to £d Ids.
.Mutton.—The heaviest yarding for some considerable time, all the fat sheep peris being filled and the overflow penned up in the lamb pens. .Most l.y wethers were yarded including some excellent lines. Freezing buyers were not operating to any extent. The market opened easier*and slackened somewhat as it progressed, hut bucked up towards the end and closed much firmer than it opened. Prime wethers 23s Oil to 30s. extra 31s, medium 20s fid, to 235; others down to 17s. Prime owe 2(>s Gd to 24s (id; extra to 30s 3d ; medium l.tfs" to 20s; others 10s fid <> 14s fid.
