An unofficial report states fighting is in progress in County Sligo, where the Republicans have wrecked and burnt some police barracks, and did much damage.to the railway, and also destroyed the houses of all protestants at C’oolOne.V. ORPHANAGE BURNT. LONDON, July 4. Jlr \Y. Churchill in the House of Commons, stated that Republicans burnt an orphanage for Protestant children at Clifden, County Galway, saying it was done as a reprisal for inmates" loyalty. The staff and 32 children were rescued and brought in a destroyer to Queenstown.
