The Governor-General’s speech foreshadowed rigid economy in the public, service and administration generally, the extension of commercial aviation services, and amendments to the constitution to extend tlieF ederal powers. Although the revenue for the vein will exceed the estimates, no taxation relief is indicated.
Other legislation proposed includes the granting of representation in Pallia iflefit -to the-Northern Territory, amendments to the Arbitration Act, and the rapid settlement of Canberra, the Federal capital.
