The New York- “Times” Washington correspondent reports the latest official Naval Intelligence Department’s survey of the increase in naval programmes of the five Powers signatorv to Washington naval treaty, shows that Japan has building and projected, more ships of unrestricted types than anv other power. The types are a first line of light cruisers, destroyer and leaders, first lino destroyers, first line submarines and licet submarines. Britain is building of these respectively. none of the first type; one of 1750 toils in the second type; three of 372-5 foils in flic third type; four of oSOU tons in flic fourth type; none in the fifth type. United States: Ton of 7-500 tons first tvep. none of the second; three of 3(54 5 tons in the third type; thirty-six of 3150 tons in the fourth; three of 0375 tons in the fifth. Japan: Fifteen of 81.900 tons in the first; none in the second; fifty of 58..500 tons in the third; twenty .three of 30.501 in the fourth: fifty-two of an unknown tonnage in the fifth. France; Three of 24.000 tons m the first; six of 14.400 tons in the second; twelve of 10.800 i the third; twelve of 132.000 tons, in the fourth; none of the fifth. .
