Mr Week. (Secretary for War), .speaking at Rliilndelplita said:— “Throughout the nation I have found ~ general sentiment in favour of an amendment of the Volstead Act. Ibe people want beer, and light wines and I have to confess they should have them. I favour a modification of this law. T believe it is the cause of most of the unrest in this country to-day. Prohibition is a subject that cannot be side-stepped.” ” , , Mr “Pussyfoot” Johnston has sailed for England, en route to New Zealand at the invitation of the Longue for the suppression of the Liquor Tronic, combat the propaganda of /w----land’s wets, who claim that prohibition is not successful in United States.
