ADUINCTON STOCK MARKET

A FIRMER MARKET

(By Telegraph.—Speela! to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

Messrs H. Matson and Co., report as follows rearding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep—Another small market of mostly inferior sorts and all classes of sheep were easier, except good breeding e w cs, which held their own, best ewes making up to 27s 93; others firm 20s to 255; best wethers from 15s Gd to 17s; best hoggets (sixed sexes) up to Ids; others from ]os Gd. Store Cattle—iA small yarding mostly nondescript lots and really no quotable change.

Hoof—A smaller yarding than for some weeks including several lines ol extra good quality, although there was a fair proportion of medium and unfinished quality. The market was firmer all round and practically all was cleared at auction. Prime steers £lO os to CM; extra to £IG IDs: medium £7 10s to £9 15s; others down to £5 10s. Prime heifers £G to £8 10s, others down down to £ 1 10s. Best cows to £8 os. prime £4 10s to £G 15s; others down to 455.

Mutton—A smaller yarding than last week, and the quality generally was better all round. The market for all prime sheep both ewes and wethers was decidedly firmer, quite 2s to 3s above last week. Medium and inferior stuff showed little or no difference. Prime wethers 23s to 30s; extre to 375; medium 20s to22s Gd; others down to 17s Gd; prime ewes 19s Gd to 25s Gd, extra to 32s 9d. Medium 14s Gd to 19s, others down to 11s Gd. Practically no lambs were yarded.
