For some time oast the Westland Hospital Board has been endeavouring to secure an auxiliary supply of water, to that of the town supply. As a result ol experiments mad.* it was found that a line supply was available at the foot of the hospital bill, and now an electric motor plant is being installed, ■o pump water from tile bottom of the bill to the laundry, a lift of some 75 feet. The pipes are now almost connected up, and when this is done the motor and pump,, a head v to band) will be placed in position. The work is being carried out under the supervision ol''the Chairman of the House Committee ( All* Geo. Davidson) who is devoting a large amount of his time to the improvement of the Hospital. Yesterday, the Chairman of the Board (Air J. j. Breeze) made a very flattering expression of appreciation of the work that Air Davidson is doing for the Hospital, stating that in addition to saving the Board a considerable amount of money hy his export advice, was himself working whole-heartedly pushing on the improvements to a speedy and successful issue.
