AMUSEMENTS.
POLLARD’S PICTURES. To-night Pollards will present to patrons the big Maurice Tourneur vivid drama from life “The Foolish Matrons,” a story that is different from all others —showing us in the past in the “Last of the Mohicans” the lurjdng dangers of the period, Maurice Tourneur shows us in ‘The Foolish Matrons that though the dangers of the present period are vastly different they are just as great and far more treachery iii their scope. CONFESSION.
On AVednesdnv evening Messrs E. J. and Dan Carroil will present tlie Lip; Nationals Film Corporation’s production “Confession” a theme never before attempted. The greatest of dramatic actors Henry B. Walthall impersonates the part of the Parish Priest, Father Barlett. The scenes of “Confession’’’ present a succession of dramatic thunderbolts. “Confession” is a seven-act play that simply enthralls. There is nothing to offend any religon as the reader may judge from the following:—“The Lest way to remove objectionable films from our picture houses is to substitute pictures like “Confession.” Tt marks an epoch in the moving picture world.”—Boston “Pilot.” This is the first work, of its kind 1 have ever recommended. You deserve it.—James Cardinal Gibbons. Congratulate you upon vour splendid photoplay “Confession.” It will prove a great benefit to humanity, and you have my sincerest wishes for its lasting success.—Cardinal Merrier, of Belgium.
