POLLARD'S PICTURES.

WILLIAM DESMOND, WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday evening, Pollards present William Desmond in a great now drama “Dare-fisted Gallagher,” a play full of life and feeling in which the star shows to great advantage. A fine supporting programme is also included. On Thursday the main feature will show H. 11. Warner in the drama "One Hour Before Dawn.”

TWO STARS TO-NIGHT

Mr McLean presents to-night a grand double star programme. The first is Louis Weber’s initial paramount production “To Please one Woman.” Why docs he slave to pile up money, commit crimes, make a fool of himself and spend half lu* wages? Ninety-nine times out of a hundred it’s “To Please One Woman.” That’s man’s one great aim. Maybe the woman is liis sweetheart or his wife or somebody elso’s wife. What happens when the woman is beautiful and selfish nnd bad. The story shows how one man gave up his wealth and his life to please this selfish woman ; how another man nearly wrecked his career anj his romance for her; how she heaped sorrow upon an innocent girl and nearly ruined a foolish one. It’s a wonderful story of a great picture. The second star is “What Happened to Jones,’ a. five-reel Paramount comedy drama starring Bryant Washburn. An American gazette will also be shown.
