dleinas (Gore). HOARD TO CONTROL PURCHASES. WELLINGTON, May 7. The Prime Minister announces the. appointment of a Stores Control Board This board is to superintend the purchases of all Government stores. This appointment- is in accordance with the recommendations’of the late Economies Commission, which reported that the established system of independent purchases by the departments was wasteful and expensive. The Stores Board is to consist of the Minister of Public Works, the General Manager of Railways, the Secretary to the Treasury, the Under-Secretary for Public AA’orks, the Secretary to the Post Office. This board will have the assistance of an Advisory Committee consisting of the stores official of the Public AVorks, Railways and Post Departments. All the purchases will he made by one of the big departments represented on jthc Advisory Committee.

ARBITRATION COURT. AUCKLAND, May 8. | A pronouncement by the Arbitration Court regard to the bonus reduction will not he made till Tuesday.
