Officers, held at the Dublin Mansion Hous t > has issued a statement that a truce has been reached. It operates from 4 o’clock on Thursday till 4 o’clock on Monday. It was arranged in order to give an opportunity for discovering a. basis for the Irish Army’s unification. The parties-undertake to prevent aggression of all kinds. REPUBLICAN’S ACTIVITIES. LONDON, May 4. Fifty I.lt .A. mutineers (Republicans) attacked a post that was occupied by 11 Ulster specials at Tlagh. near Londonderry, on the County Donegal border; . The attackers, however, withdraw after ft quarter of an hour’s fighting; Four men in the Tiuinnctry Barracks are holding out against continuous fir* ing by largo numbers of Irregulars. The railway line between Dundruni and Limerick has been blown up during the night. Some Irregulars also Blew tfp the Castle Pollard Barracks during the morning. Whil 0 an Antrim police party were proceeding to Bnllyronan, in order to relieve the barracks there, which some Irregulars were belabouring, they were ambushed. They had taken refuge in a bog. One constable was killed. Other reinforcements later relieved the Ballyronnn garrison. FREE STATERS’ ATTACK. LONDON, May 4. A desperate fight took place at Dunorn, between Free State troops and Irregulars invading a Belfast bank and seizing £IOOO. While the Irregulars were retreating, the Free Staters intercepted them, and opened fire, the fight taking place in the main street of the town. A girl was killed by a bullet in the abdomen. Several of the combatants were wounded.
A CLASH OF ARMS. (Received This Dav nt 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 5. Mutineers and Free State troops clashed nt Newton, Cunningham, two hours after the truee was signed. Free Staters were aware of the truee and
halted their motor lorries in the village. Suddenly a murderous ' fire came from Ireland walls and houses commandeered by Irregulars. Three Free Staters were shot dead and others were wounded. The Free Staters returned the fire.
