Mrs Staveley in another column notifies that her juvenile dancing class will commence next Friday afternoon in the Supreme Hull. Those intending to join are requested to let Mrs Staveley know as early as possible.
L.out.-Col. Thoms, D.S.O-, M.C., has taken over No 9 licgimontal District, which includes Nelson. Marlborough, and West Coast Colonel Thoms took part in the Gallipoli landing. When the division went to France, he took command of the Second Canterbury Battalion, and carried it through the davs of Armontieres and the Somme. His anility lining recognised lie was made brigade-major of the First Brigade. Coining through Alessines safely, he was badly wounded at Passehendaele. Finally he returned to New Zealand in 1019.
