Monarch established a remarkable record by running second in the Lincolnshire and the City and Suburban Handicaps and again in to-day's Victoria Cup, which was won by Yellow Dwarf with Varzv third.

The City Tattersall’s Cup resulted: kennephil 1, Wild ’Un 2, Sail On 3. Seventeen started. Won by two and a half lengths. Time 2.23 J. • In the Denman Stakes, after being prominent in the early stages, Solfahello finished in the ruck.
