The mutton demand remains good and prices arc the same as last quotations. The beef market is weaker. Quotations are: New Zealand mutt,nil, light-weight 8d to 8;{d; medium 7;Jd to 8,)d; heavy-weight (id to 7 id; owes, light-weight, (ij d to G)d; medium, 5Jd to 5/cl; heavy-weight 5d to 5j ; lamb, best quality light-weight, 1.11(1; heavy-weight lO.fd to lid: ordinary North Island lid; second-class quality, 10d to 10;}d; bed, chilled hinds GJd; fores to 3-d; New Zealand binds Id; lores 2:1 d per lb. BUTTER. The demand for colonial butter has improved this week and better prices have been obtained. Present ([notations are : - New Zealand, salted ISOs to ISG~; imsalted 189 s to 184 s; Australian. sailed, 170 s to 1745; ousalted. U 8 to 1725; Argentine 160 s to Litis; Danish 17Ss to 184 s per ewt. CHEESE. The demand for cheese is steady and the market is firmer. Present qnnl'itions are: Canadian, coloured 102 s to 105 s; white 98s to 10-S; New Zealand, coloured. 92s to 96s ; white Bls to Hits per ewt. CASE IN. I’iesent quotations are:--New Ze - land and .French rennet, £GO and £42 per ton respectively. HEMP. The Manila market is stc dier. Sellers of “G” grade April-Line shipments 631 15s a ton; buyers £34 5s pertou; “11’’ grade is quoted £34 per ton. New Zealand eontijiues quiet.' Nominal quotations for spot and April-.) line shipment are:—Higlipoints £32 per ton. fair £3l per ton. AYOOL. The Bradford market continues firm and juices for fops remain unchanged: GPs (merino) 51(1. 56’s (super half-bred) 29.91. Id’s (coarse cross-bred) prepared 1291. EGGS. Tile market, for eggs is quiet on account of holidays.
