Poppy Pay-To-Day.

Weak a Poppy for Remembrance on Anzac Day. Poppies were on sale to-day from 9 a.m. and the sellers reported a steady sale all the forenoon. Mr Preston’s “Don” premises are the headquarters of the Ladies’ Committee, headed by the Mayoress (Mrs Perry) which has the sale in hand. The window is tastefully decorated with poppies, several of which are made up into wreaths. These are on sale "from 5s upwards. The single large poppies are 2s Gd and the small poppies Is. The Golf Club and other sporting associations are ordering large wreaths of poppies for memorial purposes. It is -expected there will be quite a large sale, and that all folk will provide themselves with the emblem of remembrance to be worn on Tuesday next. Poppies are again on sale this afternoon, and will bo on sale to-night in Revell Street. Orders for wreaths may lie left at the headquarter’s shop, where the ladies will be in charge throughout to-day and night. The sale will be continued on Monday,, the shop in Revell Street being open during the afternoon. Mrs Perry will be glad of any volunteer help in the sale of poppies to-day and Monday by responsible persons. Help from the ladies to-night in the street sale will be appreciated. The. proceeds from the sale will be used for the benefit of ex-servicemen out of employment during the winter months-
