WEDDING BELLS.
A fashionable wedding took place yesterday afternoon at “Ma Araiua” Alexanodeor Street, 'Ureymouth, the residence of the bride’s mother, when Miss Vera Hannan, fourth daughter of Mrs and the late Mr M. Hannan, Greyinouth, was united ill the bonds of matrimony to Mr Cyril S. Hickman, eldest son of Mr and Airs G. S. Hickman, Hanmer, North Canterbury. The eermony was performed by the Rev Father Tong, The bride who was given away by her brother, Mr J. W. Hannan, was, gowned in a. beautiful frock of gold brocaded chnrmetise and georgette. The bodice was of swathed brocaded cha.rmeuse, with the long wa.'sted effect and tiny gold lace sleeves. Pointed panels of the brocade .lined will peacock blue georgette fell over a skirt of georgette and rich gold lace. A cream tulle veil with orange blossoms was worn and gold brocade shoes and stockings. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Kathleen Hannan, wore a frock of flame coloured taffeta, with pouched side panels from a long bodice, puff sleeves, and finished with gold edging. Gold shoes and stockings an a gold wreath were also worn. Miss Helen Kilgottr, the second bridesmaid, was gowned in taffeta shot in shades of blue and pink with silver edging. Her frock was on similar lines finished with a floral girdle. She wore silver shoes and stockings. The best man was Mr -J. Morgan of j Christchurch, and the groomsman Mr
F. Doogan. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests assembled in the dining-room where the breakfast was held. The tables were beautifully decorated. Among the guests were: Miss Hannan, Mrs F.
