THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
To Save New Zealand
What must we do to be saved? That seems to be the question on everyone’s tongue. The answer, I think, is more rural settlement; but the people on the land; more production and progress. As this country has to depend on its primary produce for its prosperity it seems a somewhat ludicrous idea to assist immigrants out here and then herd them in our cities and towns, whereas with a decent land settlement policy we could put a Urge per ventage of them on land where they would become real productive units in the community.
