WEDDING BEILS.

A very pretty and popular wedding was celebrated at the Church of England, Nelson Creek, on Thursday, March lfi. when Mr Douglas Paris, of Blackball, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Miss Mary Ross, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs William Ross of Ngahere. Tile bride was given away by her father. The groom was attended by his brother, Mr Harry Farris, as best man. The bride was attended by Miss nadie Ross (sister of the bride) as bridesmaid. The bride looked a picture of happiness wearing a lovely dress of white georgette trimmed with silk ribbon. She also wore the usual bridal veil, and orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of choice white flowers and asparagus fern. The bridesmaid wore a dress of shell pink georgette and hat to match and carried a beautiful bouquet. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Evans. The bridegroom presented the bride with a gold chain and pendant. The bride’s present to the groom was a set of military brushes. The bridesmaid wore a lovely brooch set with diamonds and rubies, the gift of the bridegroom. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion by lady friends of the bride. After the ceremony the bridal party and friends motored, to the Ngahere Hall where the wedding breakfast where the wedding breakfast was served and the usual felicitous toasts wore honoured. The happy couple motored to Grovmouth, and then on to Westport, where the honeymoon was spent. The bride’s travelling dress was a nigger brown silk with neat hat to match. The same evening the bride'i parents gave- a dance in the Ngahere Hull which was largely attended.
