FOOTBALL
I At a meeting of the Diggers’ Football Club last night it was decided after considerable discussion that the Diggers’ Club, which lias been made an open one, should henceforth be known as the United Club. The following officers were elected : —Patron, T. E., Y. ibecftlim; President, 1). J. Evans; VicePresidents, Mesdames Butland, Morgan, Laniacroft,, Head, Messrs W. Mackay, 31. Keenan, D. Ryan, E. C. Tooliey, A. Cowie, A. Lawn, J. Hall, E. A. Wells, M. Houston, S. W. Ford, A. McGavock, J. Fowler, F. Mclntosh, J. J. Mclntosh, D. Farrar, R. F. Perhain’j lion. Surgeons, Drs Baird and Buchanan : Hon. Secretary, R. Leva ney; Delegates, H. McManawoy and A. Askew. It was decided to play under the old colours and to extend a cordial invitation to intending players to join the club. A meeting will be held at .Mclntosh’s rooms at 8 p.m. oil Saturday, 'April 'lsth, to arrange practices, etc.
