It is understood S' 1 ’ J- Fuller will not be officially commissioned to form a Ministry, till Mr Dooley resigns which is expected to be after a meeting of tho Cabinet, at the private hospital to-day. THE TSCHIRKE MURDERER, TO PAY THE PENALTY (Received This Day at 9.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 9. The Executive Council has decided that Ross will be hanged on the 24th. The Attorney-General refused a deputation’s request for further delay of the execution with a view to lodging another appeal.
CRUISER ADELAIDE. 'Received This Day at 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 11. The cruiser Adelaide spent yesterday in further trials, without incident. She starts on a two days’ trial on Wednesday. NO TROUBLE. ' SYDNEY, April 11. Captain Heddle of the Hobsons Bay, and the Seamens’ Union, are stated to he on the friendliest terms. No trouble is anticipated. The captain says the published reports that friction is contemplated emanated from mischievous journalists.
VITAL STATISTICS. SYDNEY, April 11, The population of New South Wales at the end of 1921 was 2,128,786; whereof 1,081,769 are males, an increase of 60,441, whereof 31,600 is due to excess of births over deaths, 1841 due to excess of arrivals over departures. The marriages totalled 18,518 which was 9) per cent above the average for the previous five years. The total births was 54,634 which was one and twofifths per cent below the average for 5 years. The deaths were 20,034, which were ten and three-tenths per cent below the average for the same period.
