ad.jinuto'n stock market. A LARGE ENTRY. (By Dlsgraph. —Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson arid Co. report as follows regarding their stock snio yesterday : Store sheep.—A very large yarding and most classes of sheep were cheaper, blit all good classes of station lines sold equal to last week’s rates. Best 2 -tooth 4. bred ewes up to 30s (id; others frbffi 15s 6d to 245; best sound motif b hives from 17s to 235; others from' 12s fid. Best store wethers from 15s 6d to 17s; smaller from 13s to j 14s (id; best rape lamlisj from 14s 6d to. 17s; others from 12s. The market • generally was itot nearly so buoyant as {ha previous sales. Store cattle.—A larger yarding than for some time and the demand generally was better especially for all good classes of heifers. No big cattle were entered. 2-year old steers £2 os to £2 IQs; yearlings £1 os to £1 15s; 2-yea.r old heifers to £4 10s; yearling and 18-mos. heifers £2 10s to £3; , (ows 30s to £2 os.
Beef.—A similar yarding to last week mid the quality generally was indifferent. The market, if anything, was slightly easier even than last sale, but vendors generally accepted the price going, and practically everything was sold at auction. There was more’ than enough for butchers’ requirements. Prime steers £9 to £l2 10s; extra to £ll ss; medium £6 15s to £8 10s; others, £4 5s to £0 10s; prime heifers £5 to £7 15s; medium £3 to £4 UOs to £7 17s 6d; others down to £2 ss.
Mutton.—Another large yarding, mostly owes, but some excellent lines of wethers were offered. The market was all-round except for heavy ewes, which did not elicit the same competition as last week. Freezers were again keen on any medium and lighter quality. Prime wethers 21s to 265; extra 27s to about 30s; medium 18s fill .to 20s Od; others down to 16s. Prime owes 15s to 18s fid; extra good to 235; others from 11s 9d to 14s (id. Fanils again showed a good advance, averaging BRI to Btd overall. The advent of another freezing buyer for the first time this season made a considerable difference to the sale.
