The result of the ballot of the members of the Rost and Telegraph Officers’ Association on the proposal . to affiliate with the New Zealand Alliance of Labour is announced. The following are the figures: — Number of voting papers issued 7317 Number of votes cast 6390 Votes for affiliation 4879 Votes against affiliation 1973 Informal votes Number votes (three fifths of tbe votes polled) to cany proposal 3811 Actual majority for affiliation 2406 WELLINGTON. April 4. Tu view of the result of tbe ballot, tbe Rost and Telegraph executive will meet to take the necessary steps to offset affiliation with tbe Alliance of Labour.
