The first day of the Wellington Racing Club’s autumn meeting was held in beautiful weather and before a fair attendance. The tote handled £39,110.1, against £5(5,923 last year, a decrease of .£17,812*. Challenge Stakes.—Gloaming 1. Rational 2. Ares 3d. Only starters. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.28 3-5. Silverstrcam Handicap.—Petunia 1, Prince Hal 2, Five Eighths 3. Won by three lengths. Time 1.43 2-5. Railway Handicap.—Mireunsonta 1, Still Sea 2, Grotesque 3. Won by three quarters of a length. Time 1.13. Tinakori Handicap.—Red Hind 1, Merry Day 2, Danger Zone 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.14 1-5.
ENGLISH RACING. LONDON, March 29. Tilly, by Couamler-Eaglenest, owned by Viscount- Laseelles, won the spring Two Year Old Stakes at the Lingfield meeting.
