FRENCH RUGBY TOUR. WELLINGTON, March 30

Owing to public disappointment at the French Rugby Union’s decision to cancel the projected New Zealand tour the 'Jew Zealand Rugby Union is anxiu\s to secure a reconsideration by the French Union and has already discussed the question and has agieed to a modified programme that would c: able the Frenchmen to return home in time for their own championships. The curtailed programme would include 14 matches, of which three would be tests.

The management committee has cabled the French Union, stating !

The Appeal Court refused an application for a now trial in the case of Thomas Kearon, who was convicted at Auckland in February last of stealing £35 from A. McGuire. The application was nlade on the ground that the verdict was against the weight of evidence.
