' MONDAY, MARCH 27. , The ’Board met at 4.15 p.m. Pie- j sent:—.Messrs G. A. Wood (Chairman), F. McGregor, C. J. Nightingale, M. Houston and T. W. Bruce. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and the outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. ‘From Secretary, Harbour Association, Wellington, enclosing copy of proceedings at tine eighth confernce.—Received. From G. S. Morris, Supt. Engineer, Lyttelton, asking for information of a district nature. —Received. From Forrest and Williams. Greymouth, in regard tt> a crab winch. Received. , From Census Department, Welling;toil, asking for port statistics.—Received. From A. J. Little, Koiterangi, torwarding rates. —Received. From J. F. W. Schroder, Hokitika, informing Board that certain sections of his bad been transferred to A. Boddington.—Received. Front T. M. Wallace, Kokatalu, explaining condition as to ownership of suctions. —Received. From E. Jones, forwarding part payment of rates. —Received. From Greaney and Barrowman, Hokitika, stating they were prepared to do repair work for Board.— Received and filed. From Kokatahi Timber Coy., Ltd., asking for copy of rent of skids.--Re-ceived. From E. F. Broad, Ltd., Sydney, stating they were prepared to supply lmrd wood in anv quantities. Re eeived. From Midland Sawmtlhiag Coy., Ltn. Greymouth, asking for details of rates and forwarding cheque for same.—Received. From Acting Harbour Master, ieporting the channel running in a northwesterly direction, carrying 12 feet of water.—Received. From Borough Clerk and County Clerk, notifying that they were prepared to take on the duties of rate collecting for £52 each per year.—Received; agreed to by the Board. From 0. Horton. Secretary and rate collector to the Board, resigning Ins position, and asking to be relieved as soon as possible.—Accepted with regret, members expressing tlieii iegut that, the financial position ol the Board bad arisen which necessitated tliie change,' and if any reference as io ability is needed, the Board to supply same The Treasurer reported payments since lost meeting £374 5s 8d ; receipts £240 4s 7d, Bank N.Z. credit balance £3lO 3s 9d, cash in hand £39 osjjd. Accounts amounting to £330 7s weie passed for payment. The Board then adjourned.
