A fine occurred last night in a twostorey building owned by G. W. Taylor and occupied by G. Dempsey as a vulcanising depot. The origin of the lire is unkiiov.n. The inflammable materials in the vulcanite depot- burnt very rapidly, but smart work bv the brigade prevented Ihe total destruction of the building. The insurances are 6400 on the building in the Royal; Dempsey had a policy of 6800 in the Taranaki I armors’ Mutual, which expired on Monday.
