WATER SIDE DISPUTE. WELLINGTON, March 31

In the Arbitration Court, the parties to the waterside workers’ dispute wore unable to agree upon the rate and place of hearing. Air Roberts, for the union said that they were half-way through hearing the disputes before the Conciliation Councils in various parts, and the union was not only ready to proceed with the case next week. When the case of Paterson v. National Piano Company, of Auckland, a claim for 63,090 damages was called Miis morning, Mr Myers stated a settlement had been reached. The defendant company had agreed to payment ol a certain sum, which was considered satisfactory to both parties. The jury were discharged.
