The tote handled £40,163 against £62,763 on the second day last autumn, and for the meeting £79,339 was recorded compared with £122,241 last year. Results:—

VICTORIAN RACING. MELBOURNE, Feb. 26. The Alma Stakes resulted -.—Rosina ■], Caserta 2, Sir Andrew 3. Won easily by three lengths. Time 1.15}. Futurity Stakes Eurythmic 1, Wish YVynee 2, Ba.ttaleplane 3. Sixteen starters. Wish YVynee led at the turn, but Eurythmic raced to the front inside the distance, and won by a neck, with two lengths between second and third. Time 1.28}. Enrythmic’s victory provoked intense enthusiasm. Eurythmic lias established a claim to bet considered the greatest racehorse of all time in this part of th p world .making his stake winnings £31,505. against Carbine’s £29.626. The jobbery, L. Franklin who had a fall off Stare in the YVoodeliff Handicap is suffering from shock and hack injury. lie was removed to the lies ft !
