anRTTUUAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION A GREAT FUNCTION. DELHI, Feb. 19. Of 250 guests at a banquet given by the ruling Princes to the Prince of Wales, at least half were princes or ■Maharajahs or Sirdars. All were in full Durban dress of silks and jewels. It was one of the most remarkable scenes of the tour. The Maharajah of Gwalior, in proposing the Prince of Wales’ health declared the houses of Indian rulers and the Imperial House of Windsor, had a perfect identity, aims, and ideals. All wanted endurance of the British Empire on a growth of solidarity on which depended the world’s peace. The Prince of Wales, in a stirring reply, rejoiced in the expression of the Prince’s sentiments and their efforts to strengthen the mutual trust. He afterwards presented colours to the Sixteenth Rajputs, enormous crowds testifying to the Prince’s popularity.
