NELSON, Feb. 15
On Sunday l>ush tires started in the Sherry Valley. On Monday they had reached serious dimensions, when Bryant’s sawmill .at Tin, together witn LoOO worth of stacked timber, weyo totally destroyed. The houses in the vicinity of the mill were also endangered, and the contents were removed. Fortunately the fire failed to reach them. All the ■ 'her in the locality was also destroyed. Baigent’s mill, on Slippery Creek road, had a narrow escape. The loss is a serious one to Bryant, who had no insurance, either on the mill or on the slacked timber. Information from Tui to-day stated that the tires are subsiding, there being no wind, and there are indications of rain.
