AOJINCTON STOCK MARKET. A STEADY MARKET. (3y elcgraph.—Special to uuardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock ssiio yesterday;— Store Sheep—A very large yarding mostly lambs and a few good pens of forward wethers. All classes of store sheep were firm at last week’s prices. Best rape lambs from 14s 6d to 16s, a, few extra good to 17s 6d; best forward wethers from 15s to 17s Gd others from 12s to 14s; good 2-tooth ewe s from 17s to 20s; sound mouth ewes from 13s to 17s; aged ewes from 6s to 10s,' according to condition. Stoie Cattle—A small yarding again and mostly nondescript lots, and no quotable! difference in the market. Practically every lot cleared at auction.

Beef—A much larger entry including 1 several consignments of real good quality. The market opened ‘up easier than last week, hut improved towards the finish. Prime steers £lO to £l4 15s, extra to £l6 los, one extra good line of 14 averaged £ls 10s; medium £7 ss, to £9 los; others down to £5 Is; prime heifers £6 to £8 15s; extra to £ll, others £4 to £5 los; prime caws £5 to £5 15s; prime cows £5 to £7 os, extra good to £lO 12s 6d; others £3 to £4 10s. Mutton —A large yarding and the market was not so firm as last week, but the quality generally was indifferent. Any outstanding lots sold well. Prime .wethers 24s to 28s 10d; extra good 30s; medium 19s 6d to 21s 6d others down to 14s ; prime ewes 16s 6d to 225; extra good to 265, medium 13s to 16s; others 9s to 12s 6d. Another large yarding of lambs but the market was easier and the average price about 7J over all.
