WEST COAST BOWLING TOURNAMENT.
WEDNESDAY FEBBUARY 16tb
Yesterday the weather cleared gradually and at 3.30 p.m., after the greftn had been rolled play was commenced. The first game was a play off of. the rink tie in section B, between Stevenson (Hokitika) and Harrison (Westport) seven heiads. The green was heavy, but some fine play was shown and the interested onlookers watched the play closely. After a capital game in which both sets showed some fine shots the game went to Stevenson’s rink by 7 to 4.
The semi-finals of the rinks now lay between A section (W. Fletcher) and B. Section (Stevenson) who play and Section C, Blair and Benjamin Section D. The winners of A and B, and C and I) play off the final. PAIRS COMPETITION. Play in the first round of the Pairs Competition was commenced at 4.20 p.m.. being limited to 12 heads. Two rounds were e°mplotcd before play ceased for the day. The ladies again were in evidence supplying afternoon ten which was much appreciated by the players and onlookers.
