LBiT TEJ.EG lIA PH—PER PRESS ASSOCIATION! | DUNEDIN, Feb. 14. 'J lie quarterly, criminal sittings of the Supreme Court commenced to-day before Mr Justice Sims. There were charges against 11 per s ns and a Grand Jury found true bills in all cases. Thomas Wilkinson, who pleaded guilty to a charge of breaking, entering and theft, was sentenc’d to three years’ reformative treatment.
Arthur. Henry Douglas, who had pleaded guilty in the lower court- to charges of theft and forgery, was released on probation for a period of three years.
Michael Joseph McKenna, who pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault on a boy, was sentenced to 12 months’ hard labour.
Arthur Jones Milligan, who pleaded gaily to attempted murder at Milton on November 30, was sentenced to 10 years hard labour.
Norman Linsay Geary and Fannj llinemoa Geary (brother and sister) pleaded guilty to a charge of incest, and were detained for reformative purposes for a term of three years. Ella Colombo pleaded guilty to a charge of concealment of birth and was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon and to he placed in the Mount Magdala Home during the pleasure of the authorities. George Deviuny was found not guilty ( f charge of attempted murder, hut guilty of intent to do grievous bodily (■arm, and was remanded for sentence. James Dee, on a charge of arson was found not guilty.
