The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Summer Meeting was held to-day in fine weather. The tote handled £29,487, against £20,010 last year. Results:— Hornby Handicap.—Grim Joke 1, Raconteur 2, Glen tanner 3. Roniform threw his ride, V. Thwaites, : after doing a preliminary, and the lad had his shoulder injured. As another rider was not available the horse took no part in the race. Won by a head. Time 2.12. Trial Stakes.—Giant Killer 1, Bluff 2. Conflict 3. Won by a length. Time 1.30.
Midsummer Handicap.—-Palestrina 1, Mazama 2 .Trespass 8. Won by half a length. Time 2.34. Middle Park* Plate.— Pluto' 1, Winning Hit 2* Prosperity 3. Time 1.13 1-5.
Lyttelton Plate.-Moorland 1, Trierman 2, Eight eon pence 3. Won by a length. Time 1.2. Craven Plate.- -Songbird 1, Clean Sweep 2, Silver Peak J. Won hr a nock. Time 1.26 1-5.
Hal.swell Handicap.-Vasilkov 1, Liqner 2 Madam Cairon 3. Woii by a neck. Time 1.41.

GISBORNE RACING CLUB. GISBORNE, Feb 4. The Gisborne Racing Club’s Summer Meeting concluded in overcast weather with occasional light showers. Despite the rain of the previous day the course still remainder fast. The attendance was fair and the tote put through £13,274 ,compared with £26,064. Results : Jumpers’ Flat.—Lady Muriel 1, Goldscene 2, Demagogue 3. Won by three quarters of a length. Time 2.12. Trueheru Handicap.—Correspondent 1, Whanako 2 Hyraz 3. Won by half a length. Time ,1.42. r Bright Memorial.—Barrier 1, Prince Randall, 2, Haurangi 3. Won by a neck. Time 1.15. Maiden Scurry.—Civil Form 1, Landbird 2, Pitch 3. Won by two lengths. Time 1.1 4-5. Racing Club Handicap.-Actifid 1, Prince Jewel 2, Penitent 3. Won by three lengths. Time 1.41 4-5. Second Welter.—Queens Tip 1, Monte 2, Patetonga 3. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.80.
