Tragedy at Te Kinga.
GREYMOUTH, February 6. News was received on Saturday morning of a painful accident at Te Kinga resulting in the death of an employee of the Te Kinga Land and Timber Co. named Steve Bopicli. Deceased' who was a married man was 35 years of age. and was formerly employed as a lmshman at Orwell Creek. He leaves a wife and three children. As far as can be gathered Bopieh was employed felling a tree in the bush in company with ii mate named James Roderick Slieedy. When the tree was a little more than half cut through both men left it in order to ‘'assist another party a short distance away. Whilst they were working thus the half-cut tree gave way and fell knock ing a heavy branch off another tree. i A’s Bopiqh looked up with the sun in ; his eyes the branch stuck him on the forehead) killing him. The late Mr Bopicli was well-known in Workers' Union circles and was j very popular among his comrades at . the mill. An inquest was to have been ; held yesterday. _ ,
