[by TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Jan. 31. THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.30 p.m. On the motion of Sir H. Rhodes, the Hduse agreed with the majority of the amendments made in the Animals Protection and Game Bill, but decided to disagree with the prohibition of live pigeon matches. The Legitimation Amendment Bill was put through the committee stage, unamended, read a third time and passed, as was also the Housing Amendment Bill. Hon Guthrie moved the second reading of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Amendment Ball which was agreed to after a lengthy debate, and referred to the Lands Committee. The following bills were introduced by Governor’s Message—Company’s Temporary Empowering Bill; Urawera Lands Bill, Native Land Amendments; Native Adjustment Bill. The House rose at 12.57 a.m.
